Diagnostics
Pet diagnostics play an important role in maintaining the health of our furry friends. At Cardinal Veterinary Center, we use the latest diagnostic tools to ensure that your pet receives the best possible care. From routine bloodwork to X-rays and ultrasounds, we have the resources to identify any potential health concerns. Pet diagnostics can also be used to confirm a diagnosis and develop a treatment plan. In some cases, such as cancer, early diagnosis can make a big difference in the outcome.

ULTRASOUND
In the course of a consultation, your veterinarian may ask to perform an ultrasound on your dog or cat, in order to help diagnose your pet. An ultrasound is good at evaluating a wide variety of conditions including pregnancy, heart conditions, cysts and tumors, and other changes in internal organs. The information provided by an ultrasound will allow the veterinarian to better decide whether to proceed with surgery, perform biopsies or move forward with other blood work. With such a powerful, non-invasive tool, there are many benefits in performing a veterinary ultrasound.

RADIOLOGY
A radiograph, often known as an x-ray, is a noninvasive diagnostic tool used to help identify and treat medical disorders. In order to create images of the inside of the body using x-ray imaging, a portion of the body is exposed to a modest dosage of ionizing radiation. Our Digital Vet-Ray equipment provides images quickly and with less radiation exposure. The board-certified radiologists can then review and consult on these images after our veterinarians have reviewed them.
